Inauguration of a small-scale development project in Missoume Enlarge image Family photograph in front of the new school building (© German Embassy Yaounde) On June 22, 2017 the head of the Development cooperation section at the German Embassy Yaounde, Dr. Iven Schad together with public officials of the East Region inaugurated a school building in Misoume, a Baka’a village situated 100 km south of Bertoua. The newly built classrooms provide room for approximately 120 students who hitherto were obliged to cover a distance of over 10 km in order to attend school in the next village. The school construction is part of a wider training project for Baka’a Pigmies in the East Region that is currently being implemented and supervised by Plan International.
