It’s one of the most popular maritime cultural festivals in the summer months: each year, the Hanseatic city of Rostock welcomes more than a million visitors to the Hanse Sail event which takes place over the second weekend in August. This year the 22nd international gathering of sailing ships is being staged from 9 to 12 August 2012. Between the City Harbour and the mouth of the River Warnow, visitors can go aboard many traditional sailing vessels and Museum ships and enjoy trips on the Baltic Sea.
